What is finish carpentry?

Finish carpentry involves detailed interior woodwork such as crown molding, trim, doors, staircases, cabinets, and custom millwork. It adds the final touch that makes a space look polished and complete.

Do you build custom cabinets?

Yes, we design and install custom cabinets tailored to your space, style, and storage needs.

What’s the difference between trim and molding?

Trim is a broad term for all decorative framing-like baseboards, door casings, and crown molding. Molding refers specifically to decorative millwork used at transitions (like where walls meet ceilings).

Are you insured?

Yes!

Do you partner with custom home builders?

Yes. Since 1999, I’ve partnered with many reputable custom home builders throughout Colorado Springs and the Front Range. My trim work has been featured in multiple Parade of Homes projects, and I continue to support new construction and high-end custom builds.

Is Pro-Finish Trim a veteran-owned business?

Yes. Pro-Finish Trim is a veteran-owned business. I served in the United States Air Force starting in 1991, with assignments in Japan and California. I separated from the Air Force in 1995  with a honorable discharge. I take pride in bringing that discipline, reliability, and work ethic into every project.

Can you recommend trusted contractors for related trades?

Yes. I maintain a Preferred Contractor List for painters, finish-trade professionals, and other trusted partners I’ve worked with for many years. I’m happy to refer them as needed.

What is interior trim installation?

Interior trim installation includes the finishing details inside a home such as baseboards, crown molding, door and window casing, wall panels, and other decorative woodwork. These elements help define a space, add architectural character, and create clean transitions between surfaces.

Why is professional trim installation important?

Trim work requires precision. Small details like alignment, tight joints, and consistent spacing make the difference between trim that looks average and trim that looks custom built for the home. Professional installation ensures everything fits correctly and holds up over time.

What types of interior trim can be installed in a home?

Interior trim can include baseboards, crown molding, door and window casing, chair rail, wainscoting, wall paneling, columns, and custom millwork. These details can be added during new construction or as part of a remodel to upgrade the look of a space.

Can trim be added to an existing home during a remodel?

Yes. Many homeowners choose to add or upgrade trim when remodeling. Upgrading a staircase, adding crown molding or accent walls, or upgraded baseboards can dramatically improve the overall appearance of a room without any structural changes.

Do you offer staircase installation or repair?

We build and repair interior staircases, including treads, handrails, balusters, and custom finishes.

What areas do you serve?

We provide finish carpentry services throughout Colorado Springs and surrounding communities including Monument, Woodmoor, Flying Horse, Peregrine, Broadmoor, and nearby Colorado Springs neighborhoods.

What size crown molding should I use in my space?

This depends on ceiling height. A taller ceiling will accept a larger crown molding. A shorter ceiling will need a smaller crown molding.

What size base should I use in my house?

This depends on ceiling heights.

How long have you been in business here in Colorado Springs?

Since 1999.

Do you install doors?

Yes we install all types of doors from pocket doors, by-pass doors, bi-fold doors, front entry doors and specialty doors.

Do you handle painting or finishing work?

I don’t offer painting services directly, but I maintain a Preferred Contractor List with painters and finish-trade professionals I’ve worked with for many years. You pay them directly, and I coordinate with them as part of your project.

What sets Pro-Finish Trim apart?

I’m hands-on with every project. I’m not a contractor who hands off the work and disappears. I personally manage and work on each job, focusing on high-end craftsmanship, attention to detail, and treating your home with care and respect.

Do we do re-trims of existing homes?

Yes, we can replace your old existing trim with all new updated trim.

How long does interior trim installation typically take?

The timeline depends on the size of the project and the type of trim being installed. Smaller projects may take a day or two, while larger custom trim or whole-home installations can take longer to ensure every detail is completed properly.

What makes high-quality trim work stand out?

High-quality trim work is defined by clean lines, tight joints, smooth transitions, and careful attention to detail. When done well, trim work should look like it was designed specifically for the home rather than added afterward.

Do you work with homeowners and custom home builders?

Yes. Pro-Finish works with both homeowners and custom home builders throughout Colorado Springs and the Front Range. Projects range from individual room upgrades to trim packages for new custom homes.

What areas do you serve for interior trim installation?

Pro-Finish provides finish carpentry and interior trim installation services throughout Colorado Springs and surrounding areas including Monument, Woodmoor, Flying Horse, Peregrine, Broadmoor, and nearby communities.

John and Jim built wall to ceiling bookcase and storage cabinets. They weren’t the cheapest but they were one of the best contractors I’ve ever worked with. They were deliberate and professional in the execution of the work. They consulted with us all through the process to ensure we were satisfied with the final product. They are very skilled in their trade. Would not hesitate to recommend them.
